What is the programme?

The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow has introduced a two-year MBA designed for owners of established family businesses and members of the next generation who may lead them.

The course covers management subjects along with family-business strategy, governance and succession. It also addresses innovation, digital change, diversification and other growth opportunities.

Who can apply?

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent professional qualification such as CA, CS or ICWA from a recognised institution in India or abroad. They must have at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA in Class 10, Class 12 and their undergraduate degree.

Candidates must also have completed a minimum of 15 years of formal education. They must be an owner or successor of a family business or enterprise with annual turnover of at least ₹20 crore.

A valid GMAT or GRE result is accepted. Applicants may also use a score from IIM Lucknow’s entrance examination.

How will selection work?

The institute will shortlist candidates using GMAT, GRE or IIM Lucknow entrance-exam scores. Shortlisted applicants will then be called for a personal interview.

Classes are arranged in periodic on-campus modules, with about seven days of classroom learning each month. This structure is intended to help participants continue handling their business duties while studying.

What will students work on?

The programme includes Family Business Labs across its two years. Participants will use their own family enterprises as practical cases and work on issues such as strategy, succession, innovation and launching new ventures.

With support from faculty members and industry mentors, each lab project will lead to a Business Transformation and Growth Plan covering five to ten years. Applicants should check the official website and complete the registration process before the Phase 1 deadline.
