What is the reported UP Board schedule

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has reported a UP Board examination window from February 5 to February 24, 2027, for Class 10 and Class 12 students. The schedule was prepared according to the academic calendar, with the stated aim of keeping the academic session on time.

The schedule is not fully secure yet. The board secretary said a new timetable would be needed if the Election Commission of India decides to conduct the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls in February.

Why could the dates change

The last three Uttar Pradesh assembly polls began in the first week of February and ended in the first week of March. In those years, UP Board examinations were either held or moved to March to make room for election arrangements.

Schools can be used as polling centres, while teachers and other staff may receive election duties. This can make it difficult to hold board examinations and polls at the same time.

What happened in earlier election years

In 2022, the UP Board examinations began on March 24. Class 10 papers ended on April 11, while Class 12 papers finished on April 20. The assembly polls that year ran from February 10 to March 7.

In 2017, the board examinations started on March 16. The high school examination ended on April 1 and the intermediate examination ended on April 21. The polls were held from February 11 to March 8.

In 2012, the examinations also began on March 16 after an earlier March 1 schedule was postponed. The assembly polls ran from February 8 to March 3, and their results were announced on March 6.

What students should do now

Students should use the February schedule for planning but should not treat it as permanently confirmed if the Election Commission announces February polling. Check the board’s official notice for any revised timetable before finalising travel, revision plans or centre arrangements.

More than 50 lakh students are expected to take the examinations at 8,000 centres across the state. The board secretary said between 150,000 and 200,000 teachers and staff will be involved in examination duty.

What you should do now

  1. Use the reported February 5 to February 24 schedule for initial planning.
  2. Check the official board notice for any change linked to assembly elections.
  3. Keep revision and travel plans flexible until the final timetable is confirmed.
  4. Ask your school about any updated dates or centre instructions.
