What has NTA advised?

Applicants facing trouble while taking the live photograph should use a well-lit setting. Their face should be clearly visible, the background should have enough light, and no other person should appear in the camera frame.

If the problem remains, applicants can clear the browser cache, use another browser or open a private browsing window. They should then reopen the form and try the photograph step again.

What is the last date to apply?

The UGC NET December 2026 registration window will remain open until October 28, 2026. Candidates who have not submitted an application should complete the form, pay the fee online and download the confirmation page.

The application fee is ₹1150 for General or Unreserved candidates, ₹600 for General-EWS or OBC-NCL candidates, and ₹325 for SC, ST, PwD or Third Gender candidates.
