How to change a photo background to white

Pick the photo size
Choose your exam or Passport Size Photo in the size list at the top.

White is selected. Pick light blue or a custom colour if your form needs it.

Step away from the wall
Stand about one metre in front of the wall so there is no shadow behind you.
Contrast helps
Wear a colour different from the wall. Dark clothes on a light wall cut out best.
Tie loose hair
Flyaway hair is the hardest part. Neat hair gives a smoother edge.
Face the light
Even light on the face also makes the outline clearer.
Shoulders in frame
Include the top of your shoulders so the cut-out looks natural.

How do I make my photo background white?

Is my photo uploaded to an AI server?
No. The background removal model runs inside your browser. Standard mode downloads about 4 MB the first time and HD about 30 MB, after that both work from your device.
The edges around my hair look rough.
Switch to HD in the Background tab. It uses a portrait matting model that keeps loose hair and separates you from busy rooms much better. A plain wall, some distance behind you and even light still give the cleanest result.
Which background colour do exam forms want?
Most Indian exam and job forms ask for a white or light background. A few visa photos require plain white only. Follow your notice.
Can I resize the photo after removing the background?
Yes, it happens in the same editor. Pick your exam preset at the top and download a JPG at the exact size and KB range.
