How to resize a signature for an online form

Sign on white paper
Use a black or blue pen. Sign a little larger than usual so it stays clear when resized.

Take a clear photo
Hold the phone straight above the paper in daylight. Avoid shadows across the signature.

Upload and clean
Pick your exam preset. In the Ink tab, clean the paper and darken the ink if needed.

Zoom so the signature fills the box edge to edge, check the green tick and download.

Why signatures get rejected
Written in capitals
Block letters are not accepted as a signature by most exam bodies.
Too faint or patchy
Light pencil or a dying pen fades after compression. Use Darken faint ink.
Lots of empty space
A tiny signature in a big white box looks unreadable. Crop close to the ink.
Lined or coloured paper
Ruled lines and coloured paper show through. Sign on plain white paper.
Different on exam day
Sign the same way on the attendance sheet as in the uploaded image.
Wrong file type
Portals want JPG or JPEG. Do not rename a PNG or HEIC file, convert it.
Signature resize questions
How do I resize my signature to 10–20 KB?
Choose your exam's signature preset, upload a photo of your signature, zoom so the signature fills the box and download. The tool sets the exact pixels and finds a JPG quality inside the KB range.
My signature photo has a grey or shadowy background.
Open the Ink tab and turn on Clean paper background. It turns grey paper white while keeping the pen strokes.
The ink is too light. Can I make it darker?
Yes. Turn on Darken faint ink and pick Black or Blue as the ink colour. Light ball-pen strokes become bold and even.
The output is below 10 KB. Will the form accept it?
The tool adds invisible filler data to reach the minimum KB when a clean signature compresses too small. The picture does not change and it stays a normal JPG.
Should I sign in capital letters?
No. Most notices reject signatures in CAPITAL letters. Sign in your normal running hand, the same way you will sign on the exam day.

They match common notice sizes, last checked in October 2026. Always compare with your own notification and use Custom if it differs.
