Good passwords for shared documents
Easy to say, hard to guess
Three random words with a number, like river-mango-47, is strong and easy to share on a call.
Avoid personal details
Date of birth or mobile number is the first thing others try.
Different for each person
Use a new password for each person or office you share with.
Lock PDF questions
How strong is the password protection?
The PDF is encrypted with AES-256, the strongest standard PDF readers support. Without the password the pages cannot be read.
Can I upload a locked PDF on an exam or job portal?
Usually not. Online forms cannot open password-protected files and reject them. Lock only copies you send by email, WhatsApp or cloud links.
What if I forget the password?
The file cannot be opened again. ResultMonkey never sees your password, so nobody can recover it. Keep the original unlocked file safe.
What do Allow printing and Allow copying text do?
They decide what people with the password may do. Turn printing off for sensitive documents. Some PDF apps ignore these settings, so do not rely on them alone.
How do I share the password safely?
Send it separately from the file, for example tell it on a call or send it in a different app. Avoid putting it in the same email.
